The Centre for International Policy Studies (CIPS) aims to engage Canadians in critical discussions on global issues. We want to build better connections between scholars and those shaping policy – and with both to civil society. We believe our location in Ottawa, and at Canada’s pre-eminent bilingual university, with its deep and growing expertise in all facets of global affairs, makes us uniquely equipped to foster these connections.
I encourage you to join these discussions. Those in Ottawa can attend the regular events we host in our speakers’ series – there are two or three public talks or panels every week, on a range of global issues, and involving scholars, journalists, practitioners, activists and more. Those who are not in Ottawa can watch or listen to these discussions on line.
You can also follow the CIPS blog, a key forum for debate on Canadian foreign policy and global issues. It publishes short opinion pieces written by some of Canada’s leading experts in international affairs. Students can get involved in our annual conference and journal. To keep abreast of our busy programme, follow us on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn or by subscribing to our weekly email newsletter.
Thank you for your interest in the Centre,
– David Petrasek, Director
