Marie Langevin is a PhD candidate in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. Her research interests are in peripheral financialization with a focus on the ways that private forms of authority act on this process. The political aspect and consequences of seemingly technical practices and operations are central to her current research. As part of her doctoral thesis project, Marie Langevin continues her previous research on microfinance in analyzing the emerging process of commercialization and financialization of microfinance and in particular the role and consequences of the practices of rating agencies in these dynamics.
