CIPS is pleased to announce the appointment of Rita Abrahamsen as our new Director. A Professor in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs, Rita is an expert on African politics, security and global governance. She is excited to take over from David Petrasek, and she joins the whole CIPS team in thanking David for his excellent contributions as Director.
Rita Abrahamsen is currently on research leave; in her absence, Alexandra Gheciu, CIPS’s long-time Associate Director will be in charge.
Two new Research Associates have also recently joined us: Lindsay L. Rodman joins CIPS after leaving the Obama Administration, where she served in the Pentagon as Senior Advisor for International Humanitarian Policy. She is an International Affairs Fellow, funded by the Council of Foreign Relations, and will be conducting research on Artic security.
Dr. Philippe Beaulieu-Brossard earned his Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of St-Andrews in the United Kingdom. He is currently writing a book developing a new sociology of military knowledge on the history of design in armed forces.
