Policies about the Arctic are often decided at more southern latitudes: capitals of all Arctic states are located far from the Arctic circle, and Arctic communities only have limited powers. The interest of non-Arctic states, such as China or India, further marginalizes the voices of Arctic residents.

This online conference will make public the results of a survey conducted with 650 residents of the Canadian Arctic. It is the second year that we poll Arctic residents, allowing us to see patterns but also fluctuations through time. The survey focused on satisfaction towards regional and federal governments, threats and risks to Arctic security and ways to tackle these threats.
