The Centre for International Policy Studies (CIPS) welcomes visiting scholars from Canada and around the world who wish to pursue research in one or more areas of research in which CIPS members specialize.

We invite interested candidates to review CIPS researchers’ profiles and identify a potential CIPS researcher with whom they would like to work. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest detailing their proposed research project as well as their CV. Depending on availability, CIPS can provide access to an office, University library services, Internet services, and administrative support. The length of stay is usually from six to 12 months, with the possibility of extension. The Centre provides access to a vibrant intellectual community consisting of a range of experts working on global affairs. Visiting scholars are encouraged to participate in the many conferences and workshops organized by the Centre. CIPS promotes and facilitates collaboration between international affairs researchers across departments and faculties of the University of Ottawa, and with researchers across Canada and around the world.

Travel & Visa
The candidates must have raised enough funds to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and the Canadian visa application. The University of Ottawa offers a number of different funding opportunities for international visiting scholars.
