If managed responsibly, resource industries can drive economic growth, generate jobs,and can be an important source of revenue for developing countries. Extractive industries hold this potential for more than 50 developing countries, with a combined population of 3.5 billion people. CIRDI is a new research institute with a mandate to bring Canadian expertise to this issue. CIRDI is holding a round table in Ottawa to and CEO Cassie Doyle will discuss their current body of work and emerging strategy.
