Join us in-person on June 16, 2025, for a Policy Paper Launch Event entitled “Afghanistan at a Crossroads: Policy Recommendations for Canada and the International Community” to be organized by the Center for International Policy Studies (CIPS), University of Ottawa in collaboration with the Embassy of Afghanistan in Ottawa.
Building upon the outcomes of last year’s Conference on Afghanistan hosted by CIPS, this Policy Paper offers an analysis of the ongoing, multifaceted crisis under the Taliban regime. It examines the political, security, and humanitarian dimensions of the current situation and outlines a set of actionable recommendations aimed at reversing Afghanistan’s downward trajectory toward a future that upholds the rights and dignity of all Afghan citizens, and grants Afghan girls and boys alike the opportunity to thrive and to fully realize their potential in a safe, just, and vibrant society.
The event will bring together Afghan, Canadian, and international experts to engage in a discussion of the Policy Paper and its recommendations, fostering dialogue on viable pathways toward a representative, peaceful and prosperous future for Afghanistan.
