The High Commission of Bangladesh in Ottawa, in collaboration with CIPS and the Asian Studies Network, presents a discussion period on Bangladesh at the Cross Roads: The Country’s March to Leave No One Behind.
While Bangladesh is poised to celebrate the 50th year of its independence in 2021, this year it celebrates the birth centennial of the founding father of the nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. A least developed country at the time of the passing of the founding father in 1975, Bangladesh has now graduated to the rank of middle income countries and is striving to achieve the status of a developed country by 2041. The path of Bangladesh’s advances has been carved by Sheikh Mujib’s visions of a Golden Bengal, well manifested today in Bangladesh governments ambitious agenda of Vision 2021. Bangladesh is celebrating the birth centennial of the Father of the Nation through a series of events. This seminar, featuring presentations by scholars and practitioners on social, economic and political advances made in Bangladesh is initiated by the High Commission of Bangladesh in Ottawa.
