Mrs Annette Lu was elected to the Legislative Yuan in 1993 and elected as a magistrate in Taoyuan in 1997. She is the first woman elected as Vice President of Taiwan. She served two terms from May 2000 to 2008. She has also established herself as a prominent feminist advocate in Taiwan. In 2001, she was awarded the World Peace Corps Mission’s World Peace Prize.
