Presented by CIPS and National Security Policy Network
Canada’s national security and intelligence community has undergone, in recent years, what were arguably its largest reforms since the creation of CSIS in the 1980s. In this event, leaders from the two new bodies – the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) and the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA) – created to provide a far stronger review and oversight function for Canada’s intelligence community will discuss their respective organisations’ goals, as well as the challenges they have faced so far.
Speakers:
The Honorable David McGuinty, P.C., M.P., National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP)
John Davies, Executive Director, Secretariat of the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency
Rennie Marcoux, Executive Director of the NSICOP Secretariat
Moderated by Dr. Thomas Juneau, University of Ottawa
