Presented by CIPS National Security Network:
The Canadian government recently launched an unprecedented public consultation on national security issues to fulfill an election platform promise. This student-led presentation takes up the call to engage with the Liberal Government’s National Security Green Paper. Two groups of MA students will present their inputs to the public consultation on national security, centred on the issues raised by Canada’s no-fly list (the Passenger Protect program) and by the challenges of sustaining appropriate surveillance capabilities in a digital world.
Please join us for a public discussion with the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety, Dr. Michel Picard, Member of Parliament for Montarville, Quebec.
Participants:
The seven GSPIA students involved in this project are Kirsten Campbell, Geoff Tasker, Thomas Muir, Mackenzie Waddell-Harris, Annika Borgert, Aracelly Granja, and Conor O’Callaghan.
Nicole Tishler, a Ph.D. candidate at the Norma Paterson School of International Affairs engaged in a study of terrorist decision-making, will respond to the group presentation on the provisions of Canada’s no-fly list.
