Andrea Meloni is Ambassador of Italy to Canada. Before his appointment to Canada, Mr. Meloni was Ambassador, Representative of Italy to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union in Brussels, Belgium. Previously he had been Head of the Analysis and Planning Unit of the General Secretariat at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, Italy; Italian Consul General in Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Italian Deputy Permanent Representative to G.A.T.T. and later to W.T.O., in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. Meloni holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Pavia, Italy.
