Megan Pickup is a PhD Candidate undertaking a project which examines Brazilian South-South Cooperation with Haiti. The project is being supervised by Professor Laura Macdonald and has received funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, as well as Mitacs. Megan’s main research interests include foreign aid, development, political economy, post-neoliberalism, and Brazilian foreign policy. Her recent publications include “Foreign Policy of the New Left: Explaining Brazil’s Southern Partnerships” in Contexto Internacional, and a co-authored article with Julia Calvert on the “The Politics of Investment in the Americas: Canada, Brazil, and the (Post-) Neoliberal State” in the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal. Originally from Guelph, ON, Megan completed her Bachelor’s degree in Global Studies at Trent University, and her Master’s in Globalization and Development at the University of Ottawa.
The IPEN is hosted by the Centre for International Policy Studies at the University of Ottawa. Lunchtime seminars feature IPE scholars sharing research-in- progress in a collaborative and collegial setting. All welcome.
This talk will be in English, though Megan is prepared to take questions and comments in French as well.
