Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson will designate Monday, 24 September 2012 as “Will to Intervene” Day in the City of Ottawa. The proclamation appeals to the civic duty of Canadians to help prevent mass atrocities and make “never again” a reality. On the occasion, a group of experts will assemble to critically discuss Canada’s role in preventing mass atrocity crimes and operationalizing the Responsibility to Protect principles.
