All eyes have been on Germany since the Euro crisis began. Now, as Chancellor Angela Merkel begins her third term and warns of the need for reform, what will the future hold for the Euro? Georg Milbradt offers his views on what lies in store.
Georg Milbradt of Germany brings a unique, transatlantic perspective to the issues of economics and politics. He served as Minister President of the German Free State of Saxony from 2002-2008 and was the state’s Minister of Finance for 10 years prior to that. The Free State of Saxony is renowned for its research capabilities and manufacturing centers in the fields of nanotechnology, semi-conductors, auto manufacturing and biotechnology. After leaving government service, Georg Milbradt continued his longtime involvement in academia. He is currently a Professor of Economics and Public Finance at the Technical University of Dresden. In addition, he is a Member of the Board of the Leipzig Business School and Chairman of the Board of the Ottawa-based Forum of Federations.
